Game developers are slowly preparing for the next generation of PS5 and Xbox Scarlett consoles. Scott Phillips, creative director of "Assassin's Creed Odyssey," has now seen through what he wants in the future and what are the expectations he has of new material.

That the new Sony and Microsoft consoles are slowly but surely approaching, was recently clearly felt at the E3 2018: Bethesda showed with "Starfield" a title of next generation, "The Elder Scrolls 6" will probably appear only for PS5 and the new Xbox – and maybe even "Death Stranding" a cross-gen title. But what do developers expect from the next generation? Above all, Ubisoft is very talkative on this point.

Expectations: "More of everything"

Scott Phillips, Game Manager at Assassin's Creed Odyssey, spoke to Gamingbolt about his expectations for PS5 and Co. in his opinion, above all else: "More, more of everything." He believes that the online features that connect players are particularly important and desirable: "The sharing button and things like that will become more common and more important." No wonder he wants these features: In "Assassin's Creed Odyssey" the photo mode comes back, so Ubisoft has plenty of opportunities to share screenshots.

Ubisoft likes to discuss PS5 and Xbox Scarlett

In recent weeks and months, Ubisoft employees have repeatedly commented on the new generation of consoles. The company plans to launch PS5 and Xbox Scarlett no earlier than next year. In addition, the CEO Yves Guillemot assumes that the game could then move completely in the cloud and that conventional consoles become obsolete.

Is he right? The recent rumors about the new Xbox certainly seem a step in this direction …
