The choreographer of "Cats" Gillian Lynne is dead

At the age of 16, she began her career as a classical ballerina, then moved on to the musical for theater and television shows, but her greatest success was celebrated in as a choreographer. Today, Gillian Lynne died Sunday at the age of 92 in a London hospital, as her husband announced.

His wife left a "huge legacy" and was "revered by many". At Twitter text messaging service in a farewell message for his "dear wife and friend and love for 40 years".

The composer "Cats" Andrew Lloyd Webber also wrote: "Bye Gillie, three generations of British comedies owe you a lot." Ex-ballerina Lynne has worked as a choreographer for more than 50 productions in the West End in London and Broadway in New York. She has received two Olivier awards, the highest British theater award.

In 2014, she was honored by Queen Elizabeth II as a lady honoring her achievements in theater and musicals. Last year, Webber renamed its New London Theater at Gillian Lynne Theater.
