The Elder Scrolls 6 was finally announced at the E3. Even though it's a solo role-playing game, Bethesda says he could get a social multiplayer component

Focus is on singleplayer

Fans want to singleplayer. The Elder Scrolls Online is not only for MMORPG fans, but also for solo game fans. It is perfectly possible to play alone TESO

And yet, fans of the RPG series claim for many years a new solo section. This wish is fulfilled with The Elder Scrolls 6 announced in the E3 2018.

What is TES 6? There is not much about The Elder Scrolls 6 still known. It has been shown only a short teaser, in which a landscape can be seen. According to Todd Howard of Bethesda, however, this scene gives an indication of the location of TES 6. Fan speculation extends from Black March to Hammerfell and High Rock to Akavir Mainland

It is clear:

  • The Elder Scrolls 6 becomes a solo role-playing game
  • It is supposed to be a game of "Next Gen" act
  • The focus is on the story and the quests
  • There is a new playground to explore

A player with a multiplayer component?

A social multiplayer component could come. Todd Howard explains that TES 6 focuses on the solo experience. However, it also keeps a small backdoor open for multiplayer. Because he said, "Maybe they (TES 6 and Fallout 5, ed) also have a social aspect, which we have not yet designed."

What could it mean?

  • that TES 6 will play online as a MMORPG. That would be a lot of Bethesda fans certainly felt. In addition, the company does not want to compete for The Elder Scrolls Online
  • A cooperative mode would be a possibility. That's what fans are asking since The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. A kind of opt-in system would be conceivable, in which friends are invited from the list of friends in his game to complete quests together.
  • A social center is also conceivable. Maybe there might be some kind of tavern in which other players stay. You can trade with them and play a little mini-game, maybe cards or dice. You can also make music together.
  • We can have a system similar to Dark Souls or Bloodborne, where we "ghost" other players to see how they handle certain game situations, and we can leave messages or traps.
  • Maybe there's some kind of build-up like in the upcoming mobile game The Elder Scrolls: Blades. We will build a castle or a city, we will improve and visit the cities and fortresses of other players.

It's clear: Bethesda is thinking of a social multiplayer component for The Elder Scrolls 6. What does this look like – it's still not clear. Because the game is still in an early stage of development. There is still a lot to do until the exit. At some point, Bethesda will reveal more about TES 6 and then talk about a possible social component as well.
