"The next book I write on the moon" – Economics

[ad_1]

Sir Richard Branson, you want to write the next part of your biography in the space. Do you have a favorite place?
I'd love to do that on the moon rather than on Mars. From the moon, it is easier to look to the ground. Yes, my next book is written in a chaise lounge on the moon – with a view back to the ground.

Your Case Virgo Galactic wants to head for the Earth's orbit with the new spaceship Two. When is it so far?
I hope that our spacecraft called VSS Unity will be able to launch this year and that in the fall we will have at least our astronauts in the flying space. And I suspect that I will be in orbit even in the spring of 2019.

How many launches are you planning for the coming year?
I do not know yet. Now, it is important to get the VSS unit safely in the space. The distance between flights becomes smaller if we can really rely on the spacecraft. In the coming year, we will also receive two more space gliders in January and June. If I have three spaceships at Spaceport America, New Mexico, we should be able to launch flights from there in the middle of next year.

Entrepreneurs like Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Amazon Chief Jeff Bezos are currently racing: who is the fastest and the best in the space? And you are in the middle of the race to space.
Who is Jeff Bezos? No, seriously – competing with the richest people in the world is an interesting challenge. I have a lot of respect for Jeff and Elon, in the end we are not really competing with each other. The demand of people who want to go into space is huge. We will not be able to satisfy this need even after many years. What is good is that we are all three very different.

But competing with each other
Ok, we will soon bring people into space with Virgin Galactic, Jeff Bezos too. We also want to shoot satellites with Virgin Orbit. Then we compete with Elon

"As a young entrepreneur, I've already learned the art of delegating."

Will you be celebrating a feast on Mars with him? ] This might one day be possible if there is interest and if we have enough money to build bigger rockets and fly further into space.

Some start-ups swear by the exploitation of asteroids, the depletion of resources universe. An attractive business for you?
Virgin Orbit will certainly build rockets that suit it. But the extraction of asteroids is very expensive and is not my first priority.

You started your career almost fifty years ago with a record company. How did you find money selling music?
I bought a lot of records and it was very expensive. I thought people should be able to get cheaper music. And if you offer something cheaper, you usually have success.

It was your way of disrupting the market
Yes, that's how we built the world's largest independent record label – even with artists who did not still signed contract had and was very successful. I do not think about how I can make money, but rather how I can do something special.

With your experience from many industries, what do you advise young entrepreneurs to succeed today?
I've already learned the art of delegating – to people who could do a better job than me. I found more time for myself, my health and my family – a balance in life. Therefore, the best advice I can give to the founders is to find someone who is better in your business than you, and you can be creative in other areas.
