The three major Chinese automakers Changan, Dongfeng and FAW jointly set up a platform for a new Chinese automotive mediator. Changan, of Chongqing, in southwestern China, reported on his website Sunday that cooperation between the three automakers that had agreed to strategic cooperation last December is continuing.

] The newly created platform will also attract partners from other industries. In the future, Changan, Dongfeng and FAW also wanted to cooperate in autonomous driving, the agency said. Didi, who is backed by major Chinese Internet companies Alibaba, Tencent and Baidu, is also experimenting with autonomous driving.
In automobile production, the three manufacturers have been cooperating with foreign car manufacturers for years. For example, Changan has a joint venture with Ford in Chongqing. Dongfeng, based in Wuhan, central China, is cooperating with Peugeot-Citroen, while FAW (First Automotive Works) is operating a joint venture with Volkswagen in Changchun, northeast China.
