TAG Heuer Offers Up-to-Date Carrera Update with Four New 16 Gauges

Last month, TAG Heuer added four new 16-gauge models to its flagship Carrera collection:

Launched in 1963. One of the favorites in the world of motor racing, Carrera gets its name from
Carrera Panamericana
road race in Mexico.

Designed as a classic chronograph, with an easy-to-read dial and a tachymeter scale to measure average speed in the race, Carrera has continued to evolve over decades, with its latest expression inspiring the sporting classic with a colorful style.

First and foremost, Carrera fans will notice catchy dials in black and blue with radiant finishes. The designers have also enlarged the chronograph counters and made them more pronounced for them to be even easier to read.

To further enhance readability at night, each hour mark is filled with luminescent SuperLuminova that illuminates the night dial. The central seconds hand and the sub-dial hands are also distinguished by a touch of bright color: red on the black dial and orange version on the blue dial version. The accent is repeated on the push-button on / off and the flange from 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock.

The 41mm stainless steel case has been equipped with shorter lugs to give it a thinner and thinner appearance, while enhancing comfort and ergonomics. A blend of polished and matte finishes adds another contemporary dynamic to the case, while the ceramic bezel, in blue or black, looks larger without the metal ring that surrounds it.

Each color version is available on a stainless steel bracelet (US $ 4,450) or a sports perforated leather strap (US $ 4,300) in black for the version with black dial or in light brown associated with the blue dial for a combination of vibrant colors. The contrasting seams on the strap match the color accents on the dial.

The Caliber 16 automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve serves as the watch's engine, under a closed bottom that bears the name of the collection and a tire sculpture reminiscent of Carrera's legendary legacy as a racing watch.

The updated design preserves the sporty character of Carrera while providing a good dose of fashion, making it a modern asset for men looking for style and substance for a reliable daily watch that spends from week to weekend at work.
