Microsoft releases its July Xbox One dashboard update for all users today, and the new main feature allows Xbox owners to start games that download faster. FastStart, initially unveiled at E3, prioritizes files that a game really needs to boot while it continues to download the rest of the title in the background. It requires a download speed of at least 20Mbps, and will be available for a "number" of popular games available on Xbox Game Pass.

"You can usually expect to jump into your game twice as fast as you did before," explains a Microsoft FAQ about the new feature. Microsoft has not yet provided a complete list of FastStart compatible games, but the company plans to make it available for other games as developers update their titles.

The Pins dashboard feature includes game groups and apps. Groups mean that you can essentially organize your games into favorite sections and these will be synced to multiple Xbox One devices. Microsoft is also improving the search in the Xbox One dashboard, with the ability to press anywhere on the Y button to display an interface for searching applications, games, settings, and so on. .
