This tweet came in response to a user who was complaining that the camera on his Pixel 2 XL had stopped working as a result of the bug. fatal error. Google had suggested that clearing the camera's application cache and restarting the phone should fix the problem, but she explained that she had already cleared the cache and performed a complete factory reset.
It does not sound good, Ciara. Try clearing the camera app cache: Settings> Apps & Notifications> Show All Apps> Camera> Storage> Clear Cache> Restart Device. Tell us if that helps you.

Google also recommends that, until the release of a fix, users should put the phone in Airplane mode and try to take a picture that way.
It's unclear when a fix will arrive, but some reports suggest that Google is replacing the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones that exhibit this behavior. However, Google has not yet confirmed if this is the case. μ
