Astronomers around the world are eagerly awaiting the lunar eclipse next Friday, July 27th.
The total lunar eclipse promises to be the longest of the century, lasting one hour and 43 minutes.
The eclipse will be mainly present in the eastern hemisphere over parts of Central Asia and East Africa.
Unfortunately, this means that other parts of the world will miss the beginning of the eclipse or will completely miss the eclipse.
During the eclipse, the moon will cross the center of the darkest shadow of the Earth, taking a dark red hue from refracted sunlight.

The eclipse will begin far to the east, covering an area ranging from India to Namibia.

EarthSky.org astronomers said: "The total lunar eclipse will be mainly visible from the eastern hemisphere of the world.
" South America, at least in part, will be able to watch the final stages of the eclipse just after sunset on July 27, while New Zealand will catch the first stages of the eclipse before sunrise on July 28.

Astronomer of the Royal Observatory Dhara Patel told Express.co. uk: "The partial eclipse will start at 19:24 French time, when the moon is below the horizon.
" The total eclipse will start at 20:30 BST and maybe around this moment when the lunar eclipse co mmence to begin, we will see after, so 20:30 to 21h BST.
