Overwatch will receive a free weekend to celebrate the grand finale of Overwatch League
The game will be free on PC from July 26 to 30, with all modes except the competitive game available for new players trying the part. Those who later buy the full game will keep all their progress, including skins and other unblocked cosmetics.
There's nothing like watching great players inspire fans to play the game, and with Blizzard introducing the Overwatch League to the public again with their recent TV broadcast, all new viewers thrilled by the grand finale from July 27 to 28 – which should be the biggest show of the professional Overwatch to date – will be able to immediately try the game for free.
The free weekend also follows the release of Wrecking Ball, which should reach the servers on July 24th. Players who try to go out on weekends will be able to experience the most ridiculous hero game to date – a fight-mech piloted by Hammond the Hamster, whose kit focuses primarily on rolling or swaying for crush the enemies.
The free period begins at 11:00 am PDT on Thursday July 26th and runs until 11:59 pm PDT on Monday, July 30th. The free weekend is only available on PC, and only for gamers in gambling areas in America, Europe and Asia.
