A new exhibit celebrating the people who contribute to the fabric of the Somerset community and the various industries in the region is expected to open this month.

The Somerset Regional Art Gallery – The Condensery in Toowoolawah will host Picturing Innovation with an opening on Saturday, December 15th.

It will feature portraits of Somerset residents illustrating their achievements and capturing their story.

The nine residents presented in the exhibition were nominated by their members for their contributions, including Kal Carrick, well known as the inventor of the Bionic Arm capturing wild cattle.

Earlier this year, Mr. Carrick received an Australia Day medal for his invention, which would have greatly contributed to the country's livestock industry.

The images were taken by Queensland's award-winning news photographer Rob Maccoll.

The exhibition will be presented at 29 Factory Road, Toogoolawah, until Sunday, February 3, 2019.

The gallery is open every day from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday and from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The gallery will be closed from December 10 to 14 for the exhibition change, but Visitor Information Center services will still be available during this period.
