Guruvayur: The Reliance Industries president, Mukesh Ambani, visited the Sree Krishna temple here and offered his children's wedding invitation to the Lord.
His daughter Isha, 27, is due to marry industrialist Anand Piramal, 33, next month in Mumbai. while his twin brother Akash Ambani will make the connection with the daughter of diamond dealer Russel Mehta, Shloka Mehta, in January.
Ambani, accompanied by his younger son Anant Ambani and the director of Reliance P MS Prasad, had the darshan of the deity at 9:25 am and offered ghee, bananas and "kalabha charthu" to the deity. The temple priest, Kaliyathu Parameswaran Namboothiri, gave the "prasadam" to the VVIPs.
The Ambanis took a special flight to Kochi from Mumbai after visiting the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Shortly after offering prayers to Guruvayur, Mukesh and his team rushed to Tamil Nadu at 10 am to reach Sri Ramanathaswami Temple in Rameswaram.
The billionaire industrialist, KB Mohandas, told the president of Guruvayur Devaswom that he would return to the temple with the newly married couples to pray.
