Microsoft Surface Patent Brings New Design and Thinner Keyboard

[ad_1]

A recent patent filed with the Office of the Intellectual Property of the World (WIPO) suggests a possible overhaul of Microsoft Surface. The patent describes an overhaul of the Surface Surface Type Cover which would eventually involve cutting it and making it thinner. Information on the integration of the trackpad directly into the printed circuit is also found in the patent application.

A remodeled keyboard that will eventually become thinner could also mean that a redesign of the surface is also planned. The Verge quotes anonymous people aware of Microsoft's plans, saying the company is "experiment with models featuring USB-C, thinner displays and a more rounded design like Surface Go".

Microsoft has constantly tweaked Surface's keyboard over the years. Although there were no major changes, the goal was to improve it from one version to another between the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Pro 6. With this patent filed by Microsoft Surface, the next version of the convertible could bring a bigger change.
