Sierra Nevada Brewing is based in Chico, California. So when the camp fire ravaged the area, the brewers took it personally.
The owner, Ken Grossman, and his family quickly established a relief fund to help friends and neighbors affected by the fire, giving him $ 100,000, but they decided to go further, a few days later, announcing a new IPA, in which beer sales would be donated to this fund. The company then contacted its friends in the brewing community.
These friends, to say the least, have succeeded. On Tuesday at 11 am PT, more than 1,000 breweries showed their solidarity with Sierra Nevada to make IPA Resilience Butte County. Each will use the same recipe and in each case, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Camp Fire Rescue Fund.
Virtually all well-known brands in the craft beer world will be offering Resilience to the press, as well as hundreds of smaller regional brewers. The brewery expects to raise over a million dollars through the sale of beer.
The beer should be ready to be tasted by beer lovers by the beginning of the year. Many brewers can also create additional vehicles for donations, in addition to selling faucets.
The campfire touched the Sierra Nevada near his home beyond its geographical proximity. According to KCR News Channel, 15% of the company's employees lost their homes in the flames. The fire was finally completely under control a few days ago.
