UCF beats Alabama 70-64 for fifth consecutive win

ORLANDO, Fla. – B.J. Taylor scored 24 points and collected 3 out of 5 points to allow UCF to win its fifth consecutive victory with a 70-64% win over Alabama on Thursday night.

The Knights (6-1) took the lead for the best in a 12-3 series that allowed them to score 50-43 in the 11th minute. The Crimson Tide (5-2) stayed close and had a five-point possession that reduced the deficit to 59-57.

Alabama led 61-59 with 3:38 to go, but Dayon Griffin's 3-pointer and Tacko Fall's dunk pushed the UCF to seven and the Knights led by at least two possessions to the end.

UCF controlled the first half, taking his biggest lead of the match at 18-6 and taking the advantage at the break with a lead of 29-25.

Alabama took its first lead at 36-34 and found it at 40-38, but the UCF quickly backed down and Crimson Tide was in the lead only 51 seconds after the start of the match.

Aubrey Dawkins added 16 points and Fall scored 10 points for the Knights.

Alex Reese and Kira Lewis Jr. scored 14 goals each for the tide, while Donta Hall added 11 points and nine rebounds.
