Dar es Salaam – Mr. Ruge Mutahaba, media and entertainment guru in Tanzania, has died today in South Africa.
Ruge was Director of Strategy and Program Development at Clouds Media Group.
News of Mutahaba's death was announced late in the evening and was broadcast by various radio stations.
Shortly after, President John Magufuli sent his message of condolence to the deceased's family via his Twitter account.
"I received with shock information about the death of Ruge Mutahaba," wrote President Magufuli. He called Mutahaba "my son".
President Magufuli said he would always remember Mutahaba's role in developing the media and entertainment sector in the country.
He added that Mutahaba will also be remembered for playing a key role in instilling the spirit of hard work among Tanzania's youth.
Mutahaba, who made a name for himself as a mentor and inspiring speaker, was hospitalized for several weeks in South Africa to fight kidney failure.
