Update: The Spyro Reignited trilogy also arrives on PC, confirmed the publisher Activision. The game arrives on Steam the same day as its launch on Switch on September 3rd. Original story follows.

The Spyro Reignited trilogy is being transferred to Nintendo Switch, it was announced during the presentation of Nintendo E3 2019 Direct. The game is already available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but will make the switch to Switch on September 3rd.

The remaster contains updated versions of the first three Spyro games: Spyro the Dragon (1998), Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (1999) (known as Gateway to Glimmer in Europe and Australia) and Spyro : Year of the Dragon (2000).

The movement sees Spyro follow in the footsteps of fellow PlayStation mascot Crash Bandicoot, who has returned to the new version of N. Sane Trilogy in 2017 on PS4 before this game is also transferred to Xbox One and Switch. Rumor has it that the Spyro Reignited trilogy will come on PC, but that has not been confirmed yet.

We enjoyed the trilogy here at GameSpot and critic Justin Clark awarded him 8/10 in our review of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy on PS4. "The Resuscitated Trilogy is the best type of collection that not only brings a darling series to current visual standards, but also proves how well the original titles were built," he wrote. "Of course, the originals were made by a small studio called Insomniac, and it's not really a surprising thing that the team has done is a good example of that, but the developer of Reignited Trilogy, Toys for Bob, deserves congratulations on bringing Insomniac's vision to life as we could only dream of in 1998.
