A Kenyan court acquitted a suspect and found three others guilty of planning the April 2, 2015 terrorist attack at Garissa University College.

Nairobi Magistrate Francis Andayi said on Wednesday that there was not enough evidence to link Sahal Diry Hussein to the attackers or to one of the defendants.

But there was enough evidence to show that Mohamed Ali Abdikar, Hassan Aden Hassan and Rashid Charles Mberesero had participated in the conspiracy and execution of the attack that had killed 148 people. The victims of the attack were mostly students, university staff and several police officers.

the Three were convicted and the magistrate set a sentence of 3 July 2019.

The magistrate found that the attack on Garissa University College was intended to force the Kenyan government to withdraw its troops from Somalia.
