(CNN) – Holiday videos from other people can be terribly boring. Chris Gursky is terribly terrifying – better looking while looking through your fingers.
Gurksy, an American, was on his first day of vacation in Switzerland when he decided to do a tandem hang gliding flight over the alpine landscape.
Unfortunately, the hang glider instructor failed to fasten his safety harness.
As soon as the hang glider left the ground, Gursky grabbed it with his bare hands, desperately trying not to fall, the ground collapsed beneath them.
The following is one of the scariest moments ever recorded in front of a camera while Gursky hangs on to an expensive life while his instructor fights the air currents that push them up and tries to reverse the glider on the ground.
Difficult landing
An extreme adrenaline rush: Gursky's mad rush.
Nearly four minutes later, the hang glider approached the ground enough to allow Gursky to let go, allowing the instructor to land safely nearby.
It was not a soft landing.
"By the time we hit the ground, or I'm doing it, I would say we're traveling about 25 miles at the hour," Gursky added.
Gursky says that he fractured his right wrist and tore a tendon, requiring surgery and metal pins to wind it up.
He says his pilot "did everything in his power to make me fall to the ground".
