Johannesburg, South Africa (ADV) – The Board of Directors of the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) has recently convened to review the ALSF 2017 effectiveness review and to assess their effectiveness. operations and institutional activities in 2018.

Founded in 2008, ALSF is an international organization hosted by the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), which is dedicated to providing legal advice and technical assistance to African countries in their negotiations on complex commercial transactions. creditor and other related sovereign transactions.

ALSF also develops and offers innovative tools for capacity building and knowledge management.

The organization recently won two awards and its president, Dorcas Achapa, congratulated the site for recently receiving two continental awards for its impact on development in Africa.

Achapa also officially welcomed ALSF's new board member, Gaston Kenfack.

"I am happy and looking forward to working with a dynamic team to carry out the mandate of ALSF," said Kenfack.

According to the statement issued by the AfDB, the meetings also focused on consulting, capacity building and knowledge management activities, as well as on how communications are conducted. All elements of the work of the Mechanism have been reviewed.

With a more insightful overview of ALSF's previous work, the Board also reviewed and adopted the 2019 workplan and budget.

The statement further states that the ALSF Board of Directors is responsible for the efficient conduct of all operations of the Fund, as well as the approval of its budget and the appointment of its director.

It is composed of five members of high integrity and high competence, who act individually and are appointed by the Board of Governors for a non-renewable three-year term.
