BURLINGTON, Vt. Some Champlain College students were able to travel to Zanzibar in January as part of a class.
Zanzibar is a chain of Tanzanian islands off the coast of East Africa
with dolphins, saw a bunch of monkeys, and native dances learned and the basket weaving.
But the people of Zanzibar really did have an impact on them.
When Anna Matich from Champlain College signed up for a trip Of course in Zanzibar, she had a lot to learn.
"I did not know it existed, I did not know where she was," says Matich.
She and two of her other classmates, Abbey Barr and Jackie Noborikawa were impressed by the exotic sights and sounds of the archipelago

That 's why the Champlain College students decided to intervene.
They collected 25 laptops and raised funds for solar panels and generators for the students. Now students are raising funds for flights to Zanzibar and expedition fees.
But their teacher, Stephen Wehmeyer, says women are not just throwing money at school. money on the problem
