If you are like me, it is the time of year when you receive the most parcels. In the middle of the holiday season, all the gifts we have bought for others come in addition to the usual assortment of deliveries that my wife and I have organized. So there could be no better timing, so my favorite delivery guy, Deliveries, added support for Siri shortcuts today.
Deliveries offers five types of shortcuts that you can configure, four of which can be configured from the Application Settings screen. Some of them are quick launchers for different parts of the application, such as "Add a delivery" and "Analyze a package". Another shows you an overview of all packages followed by the application. My personal favorites, however, relate to specific packages.
The fourth shortcut that can be set directly in Shipments is the one that tells you the status of your next package. If you call this shortcut via an iPhone or iPad, Siri will tell you the estimated delivery date and you will see exactly which package it is referring to. You can also ask Siri on the HomePod, but from there, you will not know when the package will arrive, not what is the package.
For queries requiring more specificity, I recommend the fifth and final shortcut option: custom shortcuts to know when individual deliveries will take place. These can only be configured from the iOS Settings application, where the packages you follow are offered as shortcuts. It would obviously be unrealistic to set individual shortcuts for each package you receive, but for those who are really important to you, it's a very good option. I already like to ask Siri, on my HomePod, when an article will arrive and get an immediate and informed response. I plan to use this feature a lot in the future for deliveries that particularly fascinate me.
Deliveries are available on the App Store.
