July 20 was a burst for Destiny 2 players as a new secret quest was discovered. Players on the location of the Io patrol found a secret Taken portal that took them into a mysterious mission space with a 20-minute time limit. Players flocked to Io in search of the mission and secrets it contained, and after a few hours, reports began to arrive. Those who emerged victorious earned the exotic sniper rifle Whisper of the Worm, a new weapon that has essentially the same characteristics as the famous Black Spindle / Black Hammer lunette rifles of Destiny 1 Destiny fans, this event is a return to form for Bungie. The original game was laden with secrets, and as they dug into the quest "The Whisper", more hidden puzzles, and deep implications of lore arose
How to Find the Whisper
All About First find a fireteam. The mission is almost impossible to solo. Head to Io and wait in the Lost Oasis area for the public event The Taken Blight. When it breeds, look for a named named foe around the area. Once this enemy is dead, a sampled portal breeds at the top of a cliff near the area lost in the area. Approach the gate and hold the square to start The Whisper
Finding the quest is the easiest part. To complete it is something else. Again, you will need to have a fireteam of three – or it is at least strongly recommended. When you start The Whisper, you will have 20 minutes to finish it. The first part is a jumping puzzle that reminds many players of classic raid jump puzzles Destiny . Be prepared to try and fail that many times.
After the jump section, you will meet three rooms filled with Taken enemies who must be killed, familiar to all who got the black spindle in Destiny 1 thanks to a similar mission structure (minus the jumping puzzle). The last room contains three bosses that must be killed, plus tons of additions. Once the three bosses are dead, you'll be rewarded with the Whisper of the Worm, the exotic sniper rifle. Watch the Datto video above to see exactly how to complete the mission.
But this is not the end of the secrets. After completing The Whisper once, a selectable node will be added to your map for a Power 400 Heroic version of the mission. Completing the heroic version grants Masterwork's catalyst for the gun, but the secrets do not stop there either. In the heroic version of the mission, there are five secret chests to collect. Gathering them all will activate a Vex portal and allow players to glimpse inside the Glass Chapel through a portal that was idle throughout Destiny 1 (except for one mission). Although you can not pass through the portal, oracles that appear in the same order as the Vault of Glass oracles generate another chest containing an exotic ship plan and a necessary item for the Sleeper Simulant Masterwork quest. Is this the seventh mysterious vault of glass chest?
Resurrection of the worm
Perhaps the most interesting – in addition to all these other interesting aspects, of course – are the implications lore behind this quest. At the end of Warmind's (19459006) expansion campaign people were disappointed that the god Xol and the prince hive Nokris were so quickly introduced and then easily slaughtered, although they were beings so remarkable and powerful. During The Whisper, we hear Xol surprisingly speaking once more (actually about three times), even though he was presumed to have been killed. In addition, the bosses at the end of this mission are old Destiny 1 enemies that we have already killed that were taken.
Read Lore tab on Whisper of the Worm reveals more details on The Wicked of Warmind and what this quest means for the story of of Destiny 2 . Nokris and Xol had dabbled in the resurrection, and it seems that Xol did not die after all. He also found a way not only to resurrect, but to turn old dead enemies into captured enemies. The Caught clearly play a big role in Forsaken, and it seems that Xol could be in league with Savathun, the expected Forsaken Raid boss. Over the next few days, players will be certain to immerse themselves in the tradition to discover what this means for the future of Destiny 2
[19659003] The Whisper fanned the fires of passion among the Destiny 2 players, arousing the enthusiasm of people for the classic Bungie and the reasons why they fell in love with Destiny with. There was some concern that the Forsaken Game Informer cover showed too much expansion ahead. The many layers of secrets present in The Whisper give hope that there could be many of these kinds of secrets to come. These are the same moments that prevent Destiny players from returning to the game again and again. As a Destiny fan Destiny I am delighted to see the community excited and interested in exploring and finding all the secrets that it has to offer.
Do not forget that Solstice of Heroes arrives on July 31, an extension of the Moments of Triumph for this year. Destiny 2 Update 1.2.3 was also released on Tuesday, bringing with it many changes that players were waiting for.
