Dar es Salaam. International and local institutions held a national dialogue one day before every country in the world commemorates World Anti-Trafficking Day.
The one – day dialogue was held today, July 29, in Dar es Salaam.
Among other things, participants in the dialogue discussed national laws, regulations and international conventions to combat the problem, according to the Secretary of the Secretariat for Combating Trafficking, Mr. Seperatus Fella .
"We want to evaluate the current state of the problem in order to design plans that will help solve this problem," he said.
The dialogue also explored some of the weaknesses of the 2018 Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act in the control of human trafficking at home and abroad.
In his view, participants also discussed Trafficking in Persons (TIP) trends and responses in the political and legal context.
"We also learned about forms of exploitation in human trafficking, investigations and evidence gathering in IPT cases, problems and challenges," he noted. context of the refugee crisis and migration flows.
In the current state of affairs, the meeting evaluated the rehabilitation and reintegration programs of victims of human trafficking in the country.
