PRESS ROOM (ADV) – Nigerian police on Monday confirmed the shooting death of Dr. Andrew Malgwi, a renowned doctor, and his wife in Yola, a city in the north-east of the country.
Malgwi and his wife were shot dead Sunday by gunmen on his farm in the Boggare region, on the outskirts of Yola, the capital of Adamaoua.
Abubakar said the investigation was still ongoing to determine whether there was a case of murder or kidnapping.
Some residents of Boggare observed that the incident could not be unrelated to kidnappers lurking in the area.
Shots were fired and it was learned that the old doctor and his wife, who were on the farm to monitor the crops, felt the danger and ran into their car to try to run, but the men armed opened fire.
Fire Malgwi was a former health commissioner and owner of a private clinic.
