The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Asus will launch its new flagship smartphone in India, Asus ZenFone 6. The smartphone will be renamed Asus 6z due to a decision of the Delhi High Court regarding the sale of Zen or ZenFone brand products.
The smartphone will compete with the favorite of the category, the OnePlus 7 Pro, as well as the future flagship smartphone of Redmi, the K20 Pro. The smartphone could also face competitors such as Google Pixel 3a and Galaxy S10e, although the latter is significantly more expensive than the expected price of Asus 6z.
The live broadcast of the event will begin at 12 o'clock. You can see it on the YouTube channel and the ASUS India Facebook page.
The smartphone was unveiled worldwide in Spain last April at 499 euros (approximately ₹39,000). We expect a similar price in India.
Highlights include a no-lock screen, a flip-up camera, and flagship specifications, including Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The Asus 6z is illuminated by a 6.4-inch NanoEdge display with a resolution of 2340×1080 and a brightness of 600 nits. The phone is sandwiched by Gorilla Glass at both ends with an aluminum frame in the center.
It is backed by a 5000mAh battery and comes with a 18W 4.0 fast charge. On the software side, it runs under Zen UI 6 based on Android Pie 9. Asus claims that its offers offer an Android experience close to the stock.
Unlike the OnePlus 7 Pro, the Asus 6z comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back.
The Flip Camera module can be used for selfies as well as a rear-facing camera. It has two sensors including a 48MP + 13MP configuration. The latter has a wide-angle lens of 125 degrees. Cameras also support Laser AF Assist and Dual LED Flash.
Another key feature of the Asus 6z is its 5-magnet dual stereo speaker module with two NxP smartamps that promises to deliver superior audio quality than other smartphones in its range. It also comes with two microphones and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
