He revealed that efforts are in place to see the Mufindi Golf Challenge Tournament turn into an international event in order to attract more golfers from outside the country.
The three-day event was organized by the Government Through the Office of Regional Commissioner Iringa, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources.
The event involved more than 80 golfers. Dar es Salaam golfer Gymkhana Club, Aidan Nziku, was elected the event's winner.
Mufindi District Commissioner Jamhuri William revealed that his district had prepared the Mufindi Golf Challenge tournament. attracts more golfers from both inside and outside the country, as the presence of the latter will stimulate tourism and sports in the district.
Iringa District Commissioner Richard Kasesela assured the Mufindi Golf Club that the tournament will be annual. "We believe that through the growth of this tournament, we will also attract investors in the southern highlands that include the Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe, Songwe, Ruvuma, Rukwa and Katavi regions. ". Kasesela said.
Capital Plus International (CPI) tournament coordinator Clement Mshana, called on the government to cooperate with the private sector to improve infrastructure, including roads and hotels, in order to attract more participants and tourists on the sites of the area.
