Huawei will become the leading brand of mobile phones with two 7nm chips in its portfolio. The news was announced in a Weibo article by He Gang, head of Huawei's smartphone division. The next Huawei Nova 5 will feature a new 7nm Kirin SoC, supposedly the Kirin 810, which will replace the popular Kirin 710 used in Huawei's current midrangers.

The other 7nm chipset in the Huawei range is the Kirin 980, which debuted on the Mate 20 series last year and is also powering the P30 family.

We are already familiar with the design and specifications of the next nova 5, but the processor was not certain, some rumors hinting at Kirin 980. big kernel and a Mali-G52 GPU.

The Nova 5 should feature a 6.39-inch FHD + AMOLED display with a hole punch for the 32MP selfie camera and the UD fingerprint reader. The back will house a quad camera setup with a 48MP main shooter. The phone should have a big battery of 4,200 mAh, with 40W fast charge support.

Huawei will announce the nova 5 and 5i and their professional versions at its June 21 event alongside the new MediaPad M6 tablet.
