Jeep Gladiator 2020 van: that's it, guys!

The new Jeep Gladiator truck was finally unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show and we need it.

Designed to deliver the best 4×4 towing and payload capability in its class, the Gladiator inherits Command-Trac and Rock-Trac 4×4 systems, third-generation Dana 44 axles and Tru-Lock front and rear differentials, as well as Trac -Lok limited slip differential.




Customers can purchase the Gladiator in four versions: Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon, but will have to wait until the second quarter of 2019, when the first cars arrive at their dealerships.

It may look rugged on the outside, but on the inside, the Gladiator has 7- or 8.4-inch touchscreens and a 7-inch LED driver information display. Uconnect fourth generation is also available, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.




When launched, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator will use a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, designed to produce 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It also features ESS (Engine Stop-Start) as standard equipment.

The engine is bolted to a six-speed manual gearbox, but customers can also specify an eight-speed automatic transmission.




Later, Jeep will unlock a 3-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine for the Gladiator. In this configuration, the van will use 260 hp and 442 lb-ft. The eight-speed automatic transmission is standard here.

In terms of capabilities, the Gladiator equipped with the automatic provides a crawl ratio of 77.2: 1, according to Jeep. In addition, aluminum has been widely used in areas such as doors, door hinges, hood, flares and windshield frame to keep the weight under control but also to boost fuel economy, according to Jeep.
