Jerry Lawler spoke on Monday for the first time while the investigation continues on the death of his son, former professional wrestler Brian Christopher Lawler.

Jerry Lawler told WHBQ on the phone that he was with his son during his last moments at the hospital.

He said he's returned to Memphis, Tennessee , from North Carolina Sunday morning after receiving the word that his son was in
He spent hours at the Regional One with his family and friends around his son's bed.
He said that it was not easy, but he said "happy to hold the hand of his son". : 30 hours "

Lawler said that his family was so grateful for the support of friends and fans. He said that they heard thousands of people.
Lawler told WHBQ that the visit and the funeral service will be held Friday at Hope Church on Walnut Grove Road. The tour starts at noon and the service will start at 14:00. CDT
He was the son of wrestling royalty, but Brian Christopher Lawler traced his own path.
Young Lawler fought professionally for years under the nickname "Grand Master Sexay."
He was flamboyantly confident and loved doing a show. People from the nationwide fight community shared stories online.

A professional wrestler recounted the moment when his brother asked to dance with Brian. After the match, the man wrote: "Brian shot my brother in the ring to make the word, such an impressive memory."
The wrestler Rikishi took to Instagram to say that he is going miss Brian's infectious smile, laugh and "his passion for entertaining every person he has come into contact with."
Brian Lawler has run several -in law since 2009. He was charged earlier this month with his third DUI offense and escape arrest.
The Hardeman County Sheriff's Office reported that they had no indication that he was suicidal.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, he was found hanged in his cell and never recovered after being transported to Regional One.
Jerry Lawler briefly spoke about the investigation, saying, "There may be more eye contact."
The BIT called him this morning and asked him not to comment further until their investigation is completed.
Meanwhile, the wrestling community and the Lawler family continue to cry.
Fans across the country remember the man in the ring who brought smiles to so many people.
