The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was rated Best Airport in Africa and ranked 38th globally, according to a new survey by airline flight compensation company AirHelp.
The ranking was based on three factors: time performance, quality of service (a combination of public reviews of reliable sites worldwide) and a claims processing score (which reflects the way a company deals with customer complaints).
JKIA scored a total of 7.9 out of 10; 8.3 for the quality of the service, and 9.3 for the feelings of the passengers.
This year's rating is an improvement over 2017, when the airport recorded an overall performance of 7.1%.
AirHelp examined data from December 22, 2017 to March 20, 2018, considering delayed and canceled flights, public reviews of reliable sources and analysis of social media sentiments.
