Actress Keri Russell is in early conversation to join the cast of "Star Wars: Episode IX," according to a report released on Friday.
Director JJ The Abrams and Lucasfilm executives have met several actresses over the past two months and have chosen the former "Felicity" star just before the July 4 holiday, "reported Variety, citing sources
.: Impossible III, "the report says.
The role of "Star Wars" would require fierce battle scenes, which are inspired by Russell's experience in FX's "The Americans", "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and " Impossible mission."
According to Variety, Abrams will probably launch other actors at the end of July, when filming is expected to begin.
It was not immediately clear if Russell would fight with the rebel forces or the dark side.
The brunette actress recently wrapped up the last season of "The Americans."
"Star Wars: Episode IX" is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2019.
