Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is used to fighting demogorgons, but she is now facing a new and much bigger monster. Warner Bros has released the trailer for "Godzilla: The King of Monsters", starring Brown, Bradley Whitford, Vera Farmiga and Sally Hawkins, at San Diego's Comic-Con on Saturday.
In this film, Brown can be seen in the center of action at the beginning of the clip as a city falls around her. As the trailer warms, we see more than Godzilla, including King Ghidorah, the insect Mothra and the winged beast Rodan.
"King of the Monsters" is the sequel to the "Godzilla" directed by Gareth Edwards movie released in 2014. It first appeared to be a standalone film, until the post-generic scene from "King Kong: Skull Island" opens the door to a whole cinematic universe of larger-than-life monsters rebooted.
Directed by "X-Men: Apocalypse" Michael Dougherty, "The King of Monsters" seeks to bring back Godzilla's glory days with a royal kaiju battle between the big lizard himself and his three most iconic enemies : Mothra, a massive mite once venerated by the ancient world as a guardian angel because of its ability to shoot blinding "rays of god" from its chest; Rodan, a powerful pterodactyl the size of two skyscrapers with rocky skin made of volcanic sediments and of a scale large enough to create urban sounding snaps; and Godzilla's most fearsome nemesis, King Ghidora, a fearsome three-headed dragon with an electro-receptor molecular biology capable of generating powerful stratospheric storms when he flies.
The Destiny of Mankind Depends on Godzilla: King of the Monsters "Hits Theaters May 31, 2019.
