Liam Millar's double was in vain: Liverpool sank 3-2 to Paris Saint-Germain in a UEFA Youth League thriller at the Stade Georges-Lefèvre.
A late rally of Barry Lewtas' team was not enough, as their undefeated record in Europe was biting the dust.
Millar shot the Reds in the lead in the French capital but Ruben Providence equalized. The doubling of Arnoud Muinga in the second half put PSG under control before Millar's head decreed a dramatic final.
Liverpool remains at the top of Group C thanks to their one-on-one record. PSG also collected 10 points. The Reds will become the last 16 group winners they equal or improve on PSG's result against Red Star when they face Napoli on the final day in St Helens in a fortnight.
While Curtis Jones, Bobby Adeyanke and Tom Clayton were all beaten, Lewtas made three changes to the team that imposed 2-0 in Belgrade three weeks earlier.
The exciting Dutch teenager Ki-Jana Hoever, who made her Premier League debut on Sunday, started on the back with Rhys Williams.
Liverpool started in style with Bobby Duncan bowing the head of Adam Lewis' center.
The breakthrough came in 13 minutes when Rafa Camacho's assist scored the unmarked Millar. International Canada controlled and passed calmly in front of Garissone Innocent.

The Reds should have quickly added to their account. Camacho exchanged calls in favor of a penalty after interfering with Innocent, then Portugal International Under-19 shot inexplicably after Millar put one on a plateau.
It was a bad pass and PSG capitalized, a few seconds later he was back tied. The rhythm of Providence let him get ahead and he kept the courage to beat Vitezslav Jaros.
Both teams were determined to attack, it was a real show from start to finish. PSG looked dangerous on the counter, but at the other end he was taking chances, and Liverpool pressure forced the organizers to make mistakes.

When Millar signaled at home to make room for Camacho's inviting cross, the Reds had a lifeline and they threw everything on the PSG late.
Substitute Paul Glatzel could have saved a point but was thwarted by a nice save from Innocent.
Liverpool was training before – including goalkeeper Jaros – for extra time, but the equalizer would not come.
