Logan Shaw ride gives Manitoba Moose a 5-1 win over San Diego Gulls

SAN DIEGO – Logan Shaw had a hat trick to lead Manitoba Moose to the San Diego Gulls 5-1 on Wednesday in the American Hockey League.

Seth Griffith contributed to Shaw's three goals for Manitoba (10-9-1), the Winnipeg Jets affiliate in the AHL. Peter Stoykewych and Emile Poirier also scored for the Moose, while Eric Comrie made 31 saves for the win.

Luke Schenn replied for San Diego (7-7-2) with 18 seconds to play.

Kevin Boyle stopped 17 of 21 shots in the net until Stoykewych's goal at 16:31 of the second period chased him out of the Gull net. Jared Coreau dismissed two of the three shots he had to face with relief.

Manitoba played 3 for 4 on the power play and San Diego could not score for its four benefits.
