Logitech buys a micro business to increase the variety of devices in its portfolio.
The maker of computer accessories announced Monday that he was going to acquire Blue Microphones for about $ 117 million in cash. The transaction is expected to be finalized by the end of August
"The acquisition of Blue Microphones by Logitech will accelerate our entry into a growing market and offer another way to bring people's passions to life (from music to blogging)," Logitech CEO Bracken Darrell said in a blog. "Joining with Blue is an adjacent opportunity for us – a new way to grow – with additional synergies related to our game categories, webcam and PC audio."
Blue Microphones manufactures studio grade microphones that are popular on podcasts and YouTube channels. Its best-known products include the Yeti and Snowball microphone lines. In its blog announcing the acquisition, Blue also stated that it was developing new products
