I just saw a match in which Man United scored 8 goals – yes you read it – 8 goals! Do you know the game I'm talking about?
I saw beautiful diagonals crossing bullets into the space hung from overlapping backs that overlapped by registering high and low cross centers at the existing front in the penalty area.
I've seen different types of goals – some from individual engineering, others from team cohesion.
I saw fast transitions after winning the ball, which resulted in counter-attacks.
I saw brilliant hold-ups from the attackers, releasing short hits for midfielders rushing to both sides.
I saw telepathic understanding after hours of practice in training.
I've seen movements in the space, simple touches and the release of other movers.
I saw a nice fine left winger dribbling and crossing each other, thus making a miserable life for the back half.
I saw a blonde trying to score directly on a free kick and a couple of longer rangers.
All the sounds evoke a regular performance of Man United that we all expected and we were used to Man United, right? But I was describing Millwall's fight by Man United Women.

A victory means nothing
Looking forward to United's match tonight, who despite the terrible victory they are likely to win, may I ask why we still assume that such a result should bring a "respite" to the club / manager / players?
As with the Newcastle match a few weeks ago, the media and fans seem to believe that each victory represents somehow the "turning of a corner", leaving everything pink again until the next bad result .
This attitude really does not make sense. Why? Because mid-table teams (who are United) also win games.
No one claims that United is relegation fodder, for whom every gain counts. The problem with United is that they are average – but that does not mean they will not win a match; it simply means that when they win games, it makes no sense. This is not a "step in the right direction", nor a "response to criticism", nor a "glimmer of hope". It just represents the status quo. The average teams win a few games.
The only thing that would prove that the forage at the mid-table would not be united, which would actually be a "step forward", would be to do something that teams at the mid-table do not do – which is not a "winning party"; there are 10 sets of consecutive wins.
So please, when United wins tonight, please, do not greet him differently than a defeat or a draw. In itself, it does not mean anything. Just another average result for an average team.

… Why do so many people seem to think about how to solve Man Utd's myriad problems? It is a bit like claiming to have an intimate knowledge of the legal minutiae of the Treaty of Rome: to defend a resolution about something you know nothing about and to confuse your opinion with an argument based on evidence.
While MediaWatch does an excellent job of demonstrating, many journalists on whom we, the people, depend are also in the dark.
Maybe José just needs a vacation. Dick, Arnold, who is the conductor, has already called Utd "the world's biggest television show," so why not create something like Football Swap, a reality show that sends Jose to Florida and that the Tampa Bay buccaneers' manager could have a crack in Old Trafford. It will not cost Glazer anything and you can even use a hashtag alongside the program to generate that engagement.

My god, a windy and wet November morning, I needed a laugh and a huge thank you to Rami, London, for providing it. Benitez does not call his players or his owners. Did you suddenly start watching football in September 2010 or something?

That made me think of the exciting subject of senior football officials. Who is currently the leading boy / girl poster for well-run clubs? Most of the most prominent people seem to be about to be hit in recent days, with Woodward in the lead. Even Daniel Levy seems to be coping with increasing levels of discontent.
In Huw Jenkins' recent memory at Swansea's pre-Venkys before-Americans and John Williams, Blackburn was loved by the respective fans of their club. Who did the youngsters dream of being the next Peter Kenyon to admire in 2018?

Sacred balls – a guy just referred to Raz Sterling as if 1) it's a thing and 2) it's not a dickish thing.
