MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry would have snubbed an invitation to go to Dumbarton, while the couple was named Count and Countess of the city.
On the day of her marriage, last May, the Queen named the new father, Duke of Sussex and Count Dumbarton, with Meghan in the female titles.
Prince Harry, 34, is only the third Earl of the Scottish small town, but despite the rare honors he and Meghan, 37, would have avoided being invited to visit their eponymous area.
The peerage had not been used for 300 years before the Queen gave it to Prince Harry as a wedding present.
But more than a year after his revival, Archie's parents still have to travel to the Scottish city, which has about 20,000 inhabitants, while they were traveling to Sussex five months after their wedding.
It was claimed that an official invitation as well as a suggested itinerary had been sent to the couple.
The representative of the Queen in the region, Michael Gregory OBE, Lieutenant-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire, would be the one who would send an invitation.
A source told the Daily Record: "It is understood that Harry and Meghan were invited by the Lord Lieutenant but they have not yet accepted.
"A visit from them would give a boost to the region."
But Admiral Gregory of the Royal Navy said the couple was "not supposed to surrender," but he did not rule out future trips.
As there was not yet a specific appointment in the newspaper, the local population was "disappointed", the couple did not make the effort to go to Dumbarton.
Jackie Baillie, a member of the city's Labor Union, said, "It's disappointing that Harry and Meghan have not had a chance to visit them yet.
"The people of Dumbarton are looking forward to welcoming Harry and Meghan into the city."
She added that couples would be allowed to stay in the historic castle if they decided to visit them.
It has been reported that Meghan, Prince Harry and Baby Archie could join the Queen in her Balmoral Scottish estate, where she spends her summers each year.
If the trio joins Her Majesty – a first for Meghan – the couple will be known as Count and Countess Dumbarton during his stay in Scotland.
Similarly, Prince Charles, who has many titles, assumes his Scottish title, the Duke of Rothesay, during his visit to the country.
A palace source said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were "hoping" to visit Dumbarton next year.
Fabulous Digital has contacted the palace for a comment.
Meanwhile, a public relations expert has claimed that Meghan must stop behaving like a "celebrity" to win back the public.
In other news from the royal family, the queen "will advise Meghan Markle on things that could have been better done when visiting Balmoral" after her public relations blunders, said a royal expert.
And Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton ended their "conflict" by "talking and texting regularly about motherhood," said a royal writer.
