Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO is not a hobby for Sunday cruises

The AMG GT R was already great as the 12th fastest production car ever to win the infamous Nurburgring (at the time of writing). In theory, the brand new AMG GT R PRO from the German brand should do even better thanks to its "inject steroids and get stuck" approach. And that happened, according to Mercedes-AMG – six full seconds.

Beginning at the L.A Auto Show, the AMG GT R PRO is directly dependent on the racing technology of AMG's GT3 and GT4 programs to create a road car as close as possible to its counterpart.

The result is essentially a race car with headlights, license plates and a legitimate reason to say, "But officer, it's stock!

Curiously, for a race car, the power plant remained unchanged compared to the GT R model. This means a power of 430 kW and a torque of 700 Nm derived from a dual-turbo 4.0-liter V8 sent to rear wheels. It's still not bad considering the sprint time of 0 100 km / h of 3.3 seconds.

Refinement comes in the form of customizable driver adjustable suspension, adjustable stabilizer bar, and other performance chassis settings.

There is even more stiffness thanks to a carbon fiber panel providing real and better braking power with ceramic composite brakes and lightweight forged wheels.

On the aerodynamic front, the car sees a revised front splitter, spoilers, vents, vanes and mirrors. Lastly, customers have the choice between a race band ranging from the front of the car to the rear – electric green for gray or dark gray body color for any other body color.
