An elderly couple from Uriri district, in Migori County, was forced Thursday to flee and seek help in a police station to escape angry neighbors who were mocked their blood.
It was after a Tanzanian "clairvoyant" entered the couple's home and reportedly found a decaying human hand coming from the 78-year-old's home.
According to the villagers, the man would have been held responsible for the mysterious deaths that have hit the area recently.
The discovery of the human hand also explained to neighbors the large number of unexplained illnesses and tragedies in the region.
The angry residents descended into the couple's house and burned three houses, sending goods of unknown value in flames.
Their lives being in danger, the couple fled and sought refuge at the Uriri police station, the angry residence having sworn to lynch them once they had returned to the village.
