Another co-production of Marvel Netflix has come to an end as the streaming giant announced Thursday night that it had canceled Daredevil, first collaboration of the company with Marvel Entertainment, after three seasons.

This news comes only two months after the publication of Daredevil positively received third season. Daredevil is the latest in a series of cancellations by Netflix of Marvel shows. In October, both Luke Cage and Iron fist were canceled after only two seasons. This is part of Netflix's broader trend to divest itself of programs produced by other companies with their own streaming sites or announcing their intention to launch their own streaming sites, as American Vandal, which was a production of CBS Studios. Marvel Entertainment's parent company, Walt Disney Company, has its own streaming service, Disney +, en route for next year.

In a Netflix statement, the company said, "Although the series on Netflix is over, the three existing seasons will remain in service for years to come, while the character of Daredevil will live in Marvel's future projects."

For now, Netflix announced in April 2018 that it would renew Jessica Jones for a third season. In December 2017, punisher was also renewed for a second season. Both shows are the only remaining Netflix / Marvel productions with the upcoming seasons announced.
