The first session of the private multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 takes place this weekend for some players. Prior to the test, Activision and developer Treyarch shared a new intense trailer featuring the different specialists, maps, weapons and other content that will be available for testing during the beta.
The private multiplayer beta version is only available for those who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – although Xfinity customers can also participate, even without reserving the title. The first session will begin exclusively on PlayStation 4 at 10am PT / 1pm ET on Friday, August 3rd and will run until the same hours on Monday, August 6th. A second session will be held for all platforms – PS4, Xbox One and PC – the following weekend from August 10th to 13th.
As revealed by the new trailer, the multiplayer beta will feature a variety of weapons and 10 specialists, including the nomad and the return prophet, as Treyarch once said " new game mechanics designed for Black Ops 4. "The beta version will also include six cards to play on, two of which will debut to the public for the first time when the test begins.
In addition, the beta will offer several different multiplayer options. In addition to fans favorite modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint and Search & Destroy, players will be able to try Control, a brand new goal-based mode where teams alternate between attacking and defending two static goals. "
Perhaps the most intriguing, the new trailer offers fans their first look at Blackout, the Treyarch battle-style royal style mode introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Blackout will not be playable during the multiplayer beta, but fans will be able to try the early mode before the game's release with a separate Blackout beta, which is scheduled to take place in September – no specific date has been announced, but Activision has confirmed that it will run first on PS4
