Intel makes more noise around its next discrete GPU called "Arctic Sound" with new rumors recently released by DigiTimes that Intel will hold a conference in December to unveil its new GPU. Yeah, well, that does not happen.
I've contacted industry sources to see what was going on and it seems like it will not happen at all next month. Intel has already said that it will be launches its discrete GPU in 2020, so why would they be ready for a detailed description of the Arctic Sound architecture at the end of 2018? Previous rumors revealed a revelation at CES 2019, but seemed to have collapsed, while Intel was sticking to its publication window for 2020.
Intel has acquired most of the talents of AMD's Radeon Technologies Group over the last year or so, with Raja Koduri, GPU architect, joins Intel as good as Chris Hook, marketing legend at Radeon Just to name a few. These talented individuals have immense resources under Intel compared to the playing cards they owned at AMD.
