Serengeti . The district secretary of the main opposition party, Chadema, at Serengeti, Julius Anthony, resigned amid allegations that he sabotaged his party in the nomination process for the next by-election.
Tanzanians in the Buyungu constituency and in 79 districts elect respectively their deputy and their by-elections councilors scheduled for August 12, 2018, according to the National Electoral Commission (NEC).
The Buyungu constituency became vacant in May following the death of its MP Bilago Kasuku (Chadema).
