Police arrest Kenyan woman stolen at 140 million shillings in Dubai

One Rebecca Mweni Musau is at the center of an investigation into a Sh140 Million flight of a car carrying money to an ATM machine in a mall in Dubai .

With the huge amount of money at its disposal, the first stop would be the Nairobi real estate space.

Mweni is suspected of having used some of the stolen money to acquire a luxury home in Ruai.

Ms. Mweni and two other Kenyans were on the wanted list in the country.

The bloodhounds of the United Arab Emirates also tracked him in connection with the theft of 140 million shillings (5 million dirhams) in Dubai.

On Wednesday, Ms. Mweni was arrested at the Namanga border as a result of a whistleblowing from immigration agents

The immigration system of her point of entry had allowed the Kenyan police to intercept him in partnership with Interpol

He was brought to Nairobi and led officers to his Ruai home, where they seized at least Sh13 , suspected of being part of the heist.

Mweni has been in transit for three months. According to detectives, she arrived earlier in the country, but she suspects that she moved to Tanzania for other cases

. The woman alongside Charles Karanja and another suspect whose identity was not revealed stole the money on March 2. Around 10:30 pm

Karanja was a security guard at the mall. He was arrested by Dubai police in an apartment in Al Nahda, Sharjah
