CLEVELAND (AP) – A person familiar with the deal says that the Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to hand over veteran forward Kyle Korver to Utah Jazz.
Korver, one of the best long-distance shooters in NBA history, goes to the Jazz in exchange for two second-round picks, said the person who spoke on Wednesday. The Associated Press under condition of anonymity because the swap must be approved by the NBA. Trade may not become official until Thursday.
ESPN first reported the exchange.
Korver, 37, returns to Utah where he played from 2007 to 2010. He became consumable this season in Cleveland as the Cavs are rebuilding after losing LeBron James as a free agent and are in the process of acquiring assets.
Cleveland is only 4 to 15 years old for Wednesday's game in Oklahoma City.
Korver joined the Cavs in 2017 after being transferred to Atlanta. He was in the trading block for most of the season and had aroused the interest of several teams. The Cavs are also looking to go ahead with J.R. Smith, who is not currently in the team after being disappointed by his reduced role this season.
Until then, the Jazz has been a disappointment and Korver meets the needs of the club in terms of outdoor shooter.
