Silverbacks, the senior men's national team, was drawn in Pool B at the Africa Silver Cup tournament June 13-14.
According to the African Rugby Federation, the 2019 African Silver Cup will be split into two groups with group A – which includes; Madagascar, Ghana, Botswana and Nigeria – in competition on June 6-7.
The Silverbacks will face Ivory Coast, Senegal and Mauritius in Pool B. The host countries of both competitions remain to be determined.
Rwanda makes offer to host Pool B tournament
The Rwandan Rugby Federation (RRF) revealed that it was considering organizing a Group B competition if the Ministry of Sport and Culture (MINISPOC) approved this proposal.
"We wish, with the blessing of MINISPOC, to organize the tournament," said FRR President Tharcisse Kamanda.
The winner of the Silver Cup is promoted to Gold Cup, first row of the continent, while the bottom of the list will be relegated to the Bronze Cup.
At the same time, the 2019 Gold Cup of Africa will also serve as a qualifier for this year's Rugby World Cup to be held in Japan.
