South Africa / Mauritius: Amajimbos on the occasion of the final of the Cosafa U17 Cup in Mauritius

South Africa sealed its place in the final of the U17 Championships of COSAFA 2018 after a 2-0 win against Mauritius on Friday, July 27, 2018 and, in doing so, to get closer to the continental finals in Tanzania.

Motlhalosi Nare opened the scoring in the second half before the victory was sealed late when Mauritian defender Yohan Dupre put the ball in his own net.

Amajimbos is now waiting for the winner of the second semi-final between 2016 winners from Namibia and Angola to see who they will meet in the final on Sunday, July 29 in Port Louis.

The winner of this tournament will qualify for the Under-17 African Championships in Tanzania, which will serve as the qualifiers for the tournament. FIFA U-17 World Cup 2019 in Peru

The hosts got off to a good start but Bongolwethu Siyasi opened the first flat opening, but his head fell off a Storm Jonas center.

Sphiwe Nkabinde forced an excellent save from The Mauritian goalkeeper Michel, before Nare found the opening with a neat finish that was his second goal of the tournament.

Nkabinde then hit the crossbar with a thunderclap as Amajimbos pushed for a second, but the score remained 1-0 in

South Africa maintained pressure in the second period then that Dante Brown and Boitumelo Radiopane saw their efforts stalled, before Nare took almost another to deny again by Michel

Maurice had a pressure spell in the final. South Africa's goalkeeper, Bontle Molefe, kept them at bay.

Victory was guaranteed at the first minute of play at the end of the game, when the unlucky Dupre turned the ball into his own net.

The excellent Nare was named Man of the Match and South Africa is now looking to overcome the recent disappointments of this competition by claiming gold on Sunday.

They finished second in 2016 and fourth in 2017.
