Tanzania: TCRA launches anti-graft traction

Dar es Salaam – The Tanzanian Regulatory Authority for Communication (TCRA) has launched a campaign to fight corruption. The campaign is complemented by a customer service charter to ensure accountability and good governance in the delivery of services to its customers.

The purpose of the project is to ensure that people are aware of TCRA's services and that their services are delivered transparently. TCRA Director General James Kilaba said the goal was to improve service delivery.

"The draft charter will be used as a means to fight corruption and also as a tool to change institutions, customers and provide services with transparency and accountability," said Mr. Kilaba.

With the TCRA charter also gave a specific contact number with an e-mail address with a link on their website that provide guidelines on filing complaints when they occur during the course of providing services. "The phone number to contact is 0737 300 300 and the e-mail address is [email protected] and the link can be found on the website. Customers should not hesitate to tend the Hand in case of corruption in the service process The charter aims to clarify the standards of service delivery, the relationship that must be established between TCRA and the clients, the rights and responsibility of the customers and increase the productivity and accountability among the TCRA employees.

Also TCRA with other things also adapted the Quality Management System (QMS) taking into account the international standards of ISO 9001: 2015, the charter will be updated in function of demand in service delivery
