Tecia Torres will be looking to get back into the UFC 235's weight-for-straw division, but she will have to face a great beginner.
The UFC announced Thursday that the "small tornado" would meet Weili Zhang at the March 2 event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Torres (10-3) had a good start to the UFC, winning six of his first seven fights, with a decisive win against Michelle Waterson at UFC 218. But the Colorado Springs-based rival dropped again unanimous decisions since, losing to Jessica Andrade and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Zhang (18-1), meanwhile, is one of the most rising MMA stars in China. The 29-year-old has won 18 straight games after losing her first professional match, which includes both her fights at the UFC. Zhang turned heads with the submission of veteran Jessica Aguilar in the first round just last weekend at UFC Beijing. Zhang has 16 finishes among his 18 career wins.
The fight is the first officially announced for UFC 235.
